Family Background
I am a 25+ years Cleveland Heights resident. I attended Oxford Elementary, Monticello Middle and Cleveland Heights High School. Now my four children and the nephew I care for are all graduates or current CH-UH students. This is my home, this is my community!
District Involvement
I have dedicated many years of volunteer hours and energy to our district’s students, teachers and schools; starting with my successful PTA Membership Chairperson role at Noble Elementary. When my children were promoted to middle school, so was I. I became more involved in the needs of the students and the school, working closely with other parents and administration as Vice President and then President of Monticello Middle School PTA. This led me to the High School where I became more involved with my children’s extra curricular activities and eventually on to my current district-wide leadership role as President of CH-UH Council of PTA.
In the past three years as the President of the district-wide PTA Council, I have managed a diverse group of parents and representatives from each building as we identified and addressed concerns that are relevant to all students in our district. This past year, for instance, we focused on the district’s food service provider, which was failing to meet our needs or expectations. Through careful work with district administration, we were able to solve this problem and our district is now under contract with a new food provider, which we anticipate will result in more nutritional and delicious food for all our children.
The Daily Grind
For the past 11 years, I have worn many hats at a Sustainable Solutions Corporation located near downtown Cleveland working side-by-side with the Director of Operations. As the Human Resource Coordinator, I have direct contact with the Cleveland based staff of this national company. In addition, I am responsible for accounts payables/receivables and vendor/customer relationships.
